With less than 48 hours to go before the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Ondo State, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has extended an invitation to one of the leading governorship aspirants, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa, who also served as the former Commissioner for Finance in the state.
Reports have it that the invitation from the EFCC is linked to allegations of fraud involving Akinterinwa and six others. Sources from the EFCC also disclosed that Akinterinwa will be questioned regarding the diversion of Two Billion Naira belonging to the state, which was reportedly kept in a generational bank with interest for over 15 years.
Furthermore, the report indicates that Akinterinwa will also face inquiries regarding the withdrawal of over N7 Billion Naira within the last two weeks, allegedly traceable to him.
