In a bid to enhance healthcare delivery in Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment of Dr. Michael Olumide Gbala as the Acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) for the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) in Ondo.
The Governor also announced the appointment of Dr. Adesina Lawrence Akintan as the Acting Medical Director of the Akure Complex (State Specialist Hospital, Akure), and Dr. Adeola Oladele Akintade as Acting Medical Director of the Ondo Complex (General Hospital, Ondo).
These appointments come amidst ongoing restructuring efforts within the teaching hospital, aimed at improving healthcare services across the state. The appointments are effective immediately and will undergo a probationary period of six months.
Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering quality, effective, and efficient healthcare services to the people of Ondo State. He expressed confidence in the ability of the newly appointed officials to fulfill their duties diligently and urged them to prioritize the well-being of the citizens.

APPOINTMENT OF ACTING CMD FOR UNIMED TEACHING HOSPITAL
The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has given approval for the appointment of Dr. Michael Olumide Gbala as the Acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) for the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Ondo.
Furthermore, in view of the ongoing restructuring of the teaching hospital, the following have also been appointed:
Dr. Adesina Lawrence Akintan is appointed as the Acting Medical Director of Akure Complex (State Specialist Hospital, Akure).
Dr. Adeola Oladele Akintade is appointed as Acting Medical Director of the Ondo Complex (General Hospital, Ondo).
The appointments take immediate effect and shall be for a probation period of six months after which a substantive CMD will be appointed over a fully restructured UNIMEDTH in line with government’s desire to deliver quality, effective and efficient healthcare services to the good people of the State.
While congratulating the new appointees, the Governor expects the appointees to deliver their best for the people.
