A leading gubernatorial aspirant and the pioneer chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo state, Honourable D.I Kekemeke has unveiled a comprehensive blueprint for the development of Ondo if elected as governor.
In a riveting press conference held at the NUJ Press Centre in Akure, Hon. Kekemeke who is currently the National Vice Chair(Southwest) of APC with an aura of conviction and determination, disclosed his intention to contest in the coming APC primary in the state and his vision titled the “LekeLeke Agenda of Prosperity and Peace”.
Addressing the press, Kekemeke reflected on his political journey, tracing it back to the establishment of the Lekeleke Movement four years prior. He emphasized that his aspiration to govern Ondo State was not driven by personal ambition but by a divine calling to lead the state towards greatness. Central to his vision is the creation of a prosperous and peaceful environment where citizens could thrive and live meaningfully.
Drawing from his professional experience as a legal luminary, local government and public administrator as well as his political expertise Hon. Kekemeke outlined a multifaceted approach to governance, guided by a clear mission to leverage science, technology, and information to maximize government revenue and create wealth from the state’s abundant human and natural resources.
He stressed the importance of making government accessible and responsive to the needs of the people, emphasizing the principle of “THE PEOPLE FIRST.”
Reflecting on the current state of affairs in Ondo State, Hon. Kekemeke emphasized the need for experienced leadership capable of navigating the state through political challenges and harnessing the potential for development.
In a pivotal moment, Hon. Kekemeke announced his intention to contest for the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheduled for April 20, 2024. Citing his extensive experience in various leadership roles to include, former Secretary to State Government, former Attorney General, past Commissioner, and presently the National Vice Chairman of APC South-West, he expressed confidence in his ability to lead Ondo state to greatness.
