Ife Ehindero of the All Progressives Congress has emerged winner of the Saturday Akoko North-East/West House of Representatives Bye Election to replace the former representative, Bunmi Tunji Ojo who was appointed as minister in President Tinubu’s cabinet.
In a well contested election, Ehindero gathered a total of 35,504 votes to knock out his opponent, Olalekan Bada of the People’s Democratic Party who pulled 15,328 votes.
Announcing the results, the INEC returning officer Prof. Johnson Fasinmirin of the Federal University of Technology Akure declared Ife Ehindero as the duly elected Representative after collation of results from Akoko North-East and North West where the election took place in Ondo state.
