The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 2-0 to advance into the quarter-finals of the ongoing AFCON 2023.
Victor Oshimen assist and two goals in 36th and 90th minute from Ademola Lookman who double as man of the match was all the super eagles required to oust Cameroon from the competition.
The Nigerians had an early Semi Ajayi goal disallowed following a VAR review in this last-16 clash before the constant pressing and bullying of the Cameroon defence by Victor Osimhen led to Lookman finding the net in the 36th minute.
Nigeria is now position to tackle Angola in the quarter final.
Angola had earlier today defeated their opponent Namibia three goals to nothing.
