Following the news of the death of Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu which filtered into the State this morning, the mood around the governor’s office Alagbaka can be best described as pensive.
Although no official statement has been released on the development, multiple government sources who spoke under the condition of anonymity confirmed the demise of Governor Akeredolu after a prolonged battle with sickness.
The ever busy seat of power in Alagbaka became deserted despite being the first working day after Christmas holidays, leaving only security agents at the entrance of the governor’s office.
When Radio Nigeria correspondent visited the Alagbaka office, almost all the offices were under lock.
The mood at oja oba market was tensed when the news of the governor’s death filtered in as everyone seemed confused and expressed shock over the development.
The situation was the same at Isinkan and Nepa neighbourhood market and within the Akure metropolis generally as people gathered in groups discussing the news.
Meanwhile, The Acting governor of the state, Lucky Ayedatiwa is currently in Lagos attending the governors forum meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
