The Neo Black Movement, Ondo State Chapter, unequivocally condemns the recent heinous attack on the Sunshine Football Club of Akure. This appalling incident occurred along the Ore-Benin Expressway and was perpetrated by unknown gunmen. Such acts of violence against sports teams, who serve as symbols of unity and community spirit, are deeply distressing and utterly unacceptable.
We are deeply concerned about the safety of our athletes and call upon state governments to prioritize the security of football teams and sports personnel, especially during their travels. The safety of our players must be a paramount concern, and we urge immediate action to ensure their protection.
Furthermore, we appeal to the police and relevant law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts in identifying and apprehending the attackers. The fact that many individuals sustained injuries during this attack makes it imperative that justice is served swiftly and decisively.
The president of the movement , Mr. Muyiwa Olawole, personally expresses his profound dismay over this incident. He stands in solidarity with the victims and their families during this difficult time and advocates for stronger measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
We also urge the community to come together in support of those affected and to cooperate with authorities in their investigation. The Neo Black Movement is committed to working with all stakeholders to foster a safe and secure environment for sports teams in our state and beyond.
Together, we can overcome the challenges posed by such senseless violence and ensure a safer future for our athletes and the sporting community at large.
