Gunmen have attacked players and officials of Sunshine Stars football club of Akure along Ore-Benin Expressway.
The bus convening the Akure darling team was attacked on Thursday afternoon.
A ball boy named Taye Dosumu was hit by bullet, while the team Manager, Seun Betiku and others sustained varying degrees of injuries
It took the intervention of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who helped rushed the victims to a nearby hospital.
As at the time of filing this report the victims are now in a stable state while making efforts to have them transferred to sophisticated hospital for further medical treatment.
The team members were on their way to Benin city, Edo state to honour this weekend’s Nigeria premier football League match against Insurance of Benin.
