Members of the Ondo State House Of Assembly have been urged to understand the fact that the deputy governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa is currently on a joint mandate with the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The call to the Assembly members was made on Monday in a statement made available to newsmen by Hon Moyosola Niran Oladunni.
The statement urged the Assembly members to respectfully and honourably note that the deputy governor was not selected but elected along side the governor.
Moyosola Niran Oladunni, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the state, one time governorship aspirant, and Vice Chairman, Ala Resort, (a multi – million naira on going project in the state ) said the embarrassment done on the people of the state, through the activities of the Assembly members , over the the threat of impeachment and the political hullabaloo of not declaring the deputy as Acting Governor
” the Assembly members should have looked beyond sentiment but consider the huge volume of suffering that the people of the state are passing through as a result of this”
” for the fact that the economy policy of the federal government is affecting the people negatively, the absence of the governor is adding to it and giving room for corruption in the cabinet ” he said
It would be recalled that the state has been in the news negatively for months over who acts on behalf of the governor, who is currently undergoing treatment over his ill health.
He stressed further that, the Assembly members should have looked for means by which all aggrieved parties could be pacified rather than the mess they put the state.
Oladunni, therefore, appreciated the elders in the state that intervened and as well involved the president of the country in the matter.
