Emmanuel Oge’s strike in the first 8th minutes of the first half was all Sunshine stars needed to seal a win and grab maximum points against visiting Kano Pillars at the Ondo state sports complex, Akure .
The Edith Agoye tutored side showed dominance from the blast of the whistle taking the possession of the ball to the half of the visitors to unsettle the Kano boys
Quick exchange of passes at the edge of the vital area by Mafeng Pam and Nelson Osahon led to a clear cut chance for stars at the edge.
Sunshine stars Oge Emmanuel wasted no time in slotting home to throw the stands into jubilation.
As expected , Kano pillars pushed for an equalizer but Sunshine stars defence line did a good job in pushing the opponents attacker out of their half , allowing Kano pillars to do most of the job in the midfield.
Abdul Maikaba’s instructions at the touch added little or nothing to Kano pillars tactics as the first half Ended 1-0 in favour of Sunshine stars Fc .
On resumption into the second half Sunshine stars midfielders took the game to the visitors but were unlucky thrice in the 53rd minutes .
This time , Nelson Osahon, Oge Emmanuel and Ibrahim Yusuf failing to unluck and shake the net .
Edith Agoye however introduced abdulazeez Ajagbe and Opeoluwa Olufemi in the 63rd minutes , the duo replaced Mafeng Pam and Vincent Temitope respectively.
Stars efforts to increase the tally weren’t too glaring thereafter which led to Agoye introducing Michael Olalusi and lucky Nwafor in the 77th minutes to replace Oge Emmanuel and Yusuf Ibrahim .
Kano pillars threatened in the dying minutes but Rafiu Taiwo, Isiaka Mutiu and Isaac Emmanuel were alive .
Edith Agoye, who addressed Journalists after the tie commended his players , the teeming fans and his backroom staff for the feat achieved
He said his team will continue to improve as the league progresses .

Sunshine stars next match is against Lobi stars of Makurdi at the Lafia stadium on the 8th of October.
