In order to further strengthen its operations and totally win the war against crime in the society, the Amotekun Boss in the state, Chief Tunji Adeleye has advocated for robust funding to adequately sustain its zero tolerance for crime and enhance operations capacity.
He made this latest known on Tuesday in an interactive session with the Ondo state Online Media Practitioners at the Corps Command headquarters, Alagbaka Akure.
Stressing further, he said acquiring sophisticated equipments will go a along way to secure border towns and effectively track the kidnappers operating in the state environment.
Adeleye highlited some of his achievements with a tremendous impact on farmers and herders; kidnappings, armed robberies and other nefarious activities.
He however supported state police to tackle the alarming rate of insecurity in the country, stressing that introduction of state Police remained the only solution to the menace.
” He said; our major challenges is equipments, security network has migrated towards intelligence gathering and required drones, trackers and other modern equipments because for now we depended on other sister security agencies for intelligence gathering which normally drag response operations. So if we’re provided with our own drones and trackers, we will secure more areas and be at forefront of the war to track and rescue victims of kidnappers. These equipments are capital intensive, basically funding and lack of sophisticated equipments is the problem of the corps”.
No doubt the relative peace been enjoyed in the state wasn’t a surprise but as a result of the complimentary efforts and security architecture put in place by the Amotekun corps in the state.
