The immediate past governor of Rivers state Nyesom Wike said he undergoes series of excruciating challenges and experience that almost take his life and therefore has cogent reason to thank God for saving his life and for successful tenure in office.
Wike who is the architect of G5 governors in the People’s Democratic Party narrated on national TV live program how he escaped plane crash and poison during the build up for his 2nd term electioneering campaign in 2019.
He gave this testimony during the family Thanksgiving at St.Peter Anglican church cathedral, Porthacourt.
According to him, he was flown out of the country overnight for medical treatment where he was diagnosed for kidney and liver failure as a result of the poison substance.
The former governor also thank God for saving the life of his wife who was earlier diagnosed and trated for cancer.
Dignitaries including President Bola Tinubu represented by Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwolu, Senate President, Godwill Apkpabio, present and former governors, legislators, family friends, among other prominent citizens all graced the special occasion in Porthacourt, Rivers state capital.
Wike completed his 2nd term tenure in office and handover power to his annoited candidate Siminialayi Fubaraon on May 29 2023
