•••Appeals to the Governor to Shun Distractors
The leadership, stakeholders and entire members of the APC in Akure North LGA received with overwhelming elation the approval of the Ondo Deep Seaport by President Mohammadu Buhari. Recall that the Ondo Deep Seaport project is one whose actualisation is at the heart of the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON since the inception of his administration.
Responding to the news of the approval, the LGA party Chairman of the APC, Mr Eleti appreciates Governor Akeredolu for not relenting on the port project. Eleti says the rigour and painstaking efforts with which Akeredolu had been pursuing the actualisation of the Ondo Deep Seaport has eventually yielded and got the project the required approval from the Federal Government.
Also speaking, the Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Bamidele Ologunloluwa, commended the Fighting Spirit of Mr Governor. Ologun says: ” A very vital pathway towards economic prosperity which is dear to the Akeredolu administration is the bringing to fruition of the Ondo Deep Seaport. Aside that the actualisation of the port will serve as a conduit for a robust economy for the state, it will also engender food security and inadvertently turn Ondo state to a technological hub. I foresee a Silicon valley very soon in Ondo state, and a big bang of thousands of jobs for the youths. What I can say confidently is that unemployment will soon become a thing of the past in our dear Sunshine state. We can’t appreciate enough the efforts of Mr Governor which had ensured that the project received the imprimatur of the federal government.”
A former Vice Chairman of the LGA and a former two time member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akin Adeniyi could not contain his joy on the news of the approval of the Seaport. He spoke on behalf of many other party leaders and showered encomiums on the Governor. Adeniyi says Akeredolu is truly “Mr Talk and Do,” and has once more demonstrated it in the case of the Ondo Deep Seaport project. The former Hon. Member added that Ondo people might not really know the worth of Aketi’s efforts now, but that in a very not too distant future, the state would remember the Governor and thank God Almighty for blessing them with him.
The leadership and stakeholders of the APC in Akure North LGA equally reaffirm their unshakable support and loyalty to the Ondo State Governor, noting that his strides in both human and infrastructural developments cannot be overemphasized.
They seized the opportunity to appeal to the Governor to shun and not look the direction of distractors especially, at this crucial moment when the Sunshine state is being ushered into her golden period. ” Ondo State is about to enter an unprecedented developmental period and one cannot afford to give distractors and mere attention seekers any chance. We appeal to Governor Akeredolu not to look at distractors from any angle but concentrate on the golden period God Almighty is using him to lead Ondo State into,” the leadership added.
