A 27 year Old Nigerian Chef, Hilda ‘Baci’ Bassey is set to smash the Guiness World Record for the longest cooking Marathon by an Individual.
The Well-rounded Actress, TV producer and Foodpreneur Akwa Ibom born Chef owns a food brand “MyFoodbyHilda”, a fast food restaurant located Lekki area of Lagos state.
The cooking Marathon has since commenced in Amore Gardens Lekki on the 11th of May, 2023 and is expected to end on Monday, May 15, 2023 with a winner.
“HildaBasiCookaThon” is targeted at cooking for 97hours of cooking while standing all through with a 5min break per hour for her to break the World Record of 87hours, 45minutes,00Second currently held by Chef Lata London in Rewa, India in 2019.
Hilda has since the commencement of the cooking been showcasing her culinary skills and has cooked over a hundred and ten meals serving almost 3,000 persons.
At a press conference held earlier in Lagos, Hilda emphasized that the Cook-a-thon is to inspire young people especially young girls on the possiblity of achieving their dreams.
Hilda Effiong Bassey is a graduate of Sociology from Madonna University, Okija, Anambra state. Hilda whose culinary skills was inspired by her mother has been in various cook shows and represnted Nigeria at the Jollof Faceoff Competition in 2021.
At the time of this report, Hilda has cooked for 72 hours and has 24 hours more to go to achieve this feat.
